| Yay. I made South's varsity tennis team. Player #5.
Well, technically, there were no cuts. 21 people tried out, and 12 people made the official/main team, and everyone else is, according to the coach, going to make up an unofficial sort of JV team. Anyway...
Tennis tournament, tomorrow. Will probably have to leave around...7:30 a.m.-ish. Or earlier? Either way, that's, like, sacrilegious. No one should have to get up that early on a weekend. Gah.
...Oh, who am I kidding. NYSL rec soccer starts Saturday after next. Games are always every Saturday at like 8 a.m. or earlier.
And the fun keeps on coming. I've got a project on a country for Sherman's class. So I chose Switzerland, cuz I did my huge final research project for World Studies last year on Switzerland, and still have most of the facts. But now that I've started researching all this stuff again, I realized how utterly boring I made this project for myself. I could've, for once, been smart over being lazy, and picked a different country and learn something. Now I'm stuck with reviewing info I spent enough time on last year to make me absolutely tired of it. Darn.
...And more fun. I procrastinated. Way too much. In fact, I don't think I've done any homework after school for, like, the past week. Oh. No, I take that back. I did a worksheet. Sad how I can remember the single, lone assignment I actually spent some time on at home. So now I've got a pile-up of stuff I need to learn, and an English project I've got to do, and lots of bookwork.
Yes, I will eventually stop complaining about my own idiocy, and quit procrastinating, but that can wait till Sunday...
Really really looking forward to April Vacation. And even before that, the end of quarter 3, next Friday. Kinda crazy, time flew yet again. Which means, no more health class. But I actually think I prefer health to gym. I mean, hey, at least we have fun discussions, even though we have some really perverted people in our class...where as gym just takes that much more effort. And the stupid grading system puts way too much weight on being late. Gym first period--I just can't seem to get to school on time for more than a week in a row. I'm amazed I didn't get a detention in health for being late so many times. Really happy about that. Oh, and...looking forward to spirit week. First day is 'College Sweatshirt Day' I think. Too bad I don't have any college sweatshirts. Oh well.
Oh, and (early by 1/2 an hour:), happy April fool's day. Hasta luego.

| Fun. Finals today. Really easy. Really, really easy. Chem and Spanish. I feel bad for you people who had to take Gabriel's algebra 2 final. Sounded fun...but that probably means I should study for the precalc final tomorrow. I should definitely start studying for the ap stats final too. As soon as I tear myself away from this laptop. I'm actually going to miss chem and spanish...I'm not really looking forward to my next semester classes. I have Health (pd 1 w/ Valuk), Blueprint (pd 2 w/ Sherman), English (pd 3 w/ Keirstead), and continuing with ap statistics 4th block except we don't have a classroom yet. They can't find anywhere to put us so I dunno, maybe we'll just be wandering around for the first week. lol. Not much else to say. Hope everybody enjoyed their finals as much as I did. Oh yeah and I'm really looking forward to that assembly on Friday, on...gangs, drugs, and possibly violence. Hah. Not. How many of those have we had by now anyway? Oh, one last thing...if I learn Spanish 4 w/ Ms. Leavens over the summer (by email or something..? but hey, I'm not the only one doing it), that means I've got one free block (yup I'm thinking about course selections for next year because yeah, they're coming up) in addition to what I'd planned to take (AP Calc, AP Physics, AP US History, and English), which if that doesn't kill me enough, I guess I could do AP English instead, or take some random computer class (I still need a computer credit, but I'm planning to test out), or I could take band or something else really random. Still thinking about it. But with how badly I've been doing in ap stats as compared to my other classes, I don't know how well this'll turn out. Oh and just for the record, though this is kinda old, I got a 2180 on the PSAT. 99th percentile, but I made some pretty stupid mistakes. Still happy with it though. | | |
| ...It's been ages since I've updated. Or looked at any xanga site at all. Now that I think of it, I've completely abandoned my LJ too. Well, I'll be sure to check on that some other month or something. Anyway...
Stuff that's happened since my last update...I can't really remember. So nevermind. Oh, I got a 750 on the SAT II Chinese, which turned out to be in the 25th percentile, meaning 75% of all seniors who took the test got higher than that. I still did better than I expected though, so I'm fine with that.
(Edit: Haha I just found out that all the people who got everything right, an 800, on the SAT 2 Chinese only got a 61 percentile, because there were so many 800's.~)
Agh. It was raining wicked hard and I got completely soaked walking home from the bus stop today. Lucky me, I just decided to take the bus the one day it was pouring outside.
Oh yeah, we did spanish skits today. It was fun, for the most part. Ms Leavens bought us all bagels and munchkins. But all of my other classes/teachers assigned tons of projects and hw as always. I have to make a gravestone for Joseph Priestley, discoverer of oxygen, creator of soda, inventor of laughing gas. What fun. Oh, and a mob burned down his house and lab. And his books were burned. Fun facts about dead scientists. Yay. Precalc is as dull as ever, and we got a new project today. Due tomorrow. I've managed to make a program that does all of the work for me when it comes to finding sides/angles of triangles, but it's really annoying that we have to actually show our work. And explain it. In complete sentences. Almost as bad as stat class; another day of notes on probability and a ton of bookwork for homework. So I guess I should stop complaining about it all and go do something useful.

| The PSAT was today...and it was pretty easy, except for the very last math question (I spent like 10 minutes on it, and ended up guessing...) and maybe a couple other questions. Then again, I'll probably end up getting a really crappy score because of some really stupid mistakes. And I think they give way too much extra time on the last section; I checked all my work and still finished ten minutes early. But it was still my favorite section because the sentence corrections were the easiest. But yeah...we'll find out our scores in December I guess. And haha, Jimmy thought that circles were polygons...
Anyway, recently all of my teachers have decided to assign projects and essays and tons of homework ...last thursday when I got home from the challenge program (fun presentation, stuff about birth order) at around 5:30 I basically sat down and did homework till 2:30 am. And didn't finish. But I got up early and ended up finishing it at school. And so now I'm enjoying this weekend, procrastinating on some stupid precalc project. My precalc teacher has a strange obsession with biorhythms, but it's kind of funny because they seem to work for her. So yay, we get a 4-page project on biorhythms. I wish I could just use an online biorhythm charter but she expressly forbid it. But apparently my physical and intellectual state was at 95% today, which is pretty cool. Disregarding the negative 98% in intuition. Haha.
Chart your own biorhythms: http://biorhythms.perbang.dk/ or http://www.bio-chart.com/
And one last comment. Is anyone else getting kind of sick of the rain? It's been raining for like 5 days straight....
Edit: Yay I just had fun with some clip-arting and completely changing my color theme...no more blue on bright green. I might change my icon to match this too.
| This is cool, I haven't updated for a while but I like the formatting tools...I don't really know if the 'save' option and bulleted lists and stuff is necessary, but I like being able to fix fonts and colors easily now...
Not too much has been going on that I can think of...can't wait till next week, Columbus Day Weekend...
As for school stuff, my teachers still give way too many lab reports, tests, quizzes, and homework, and now I've got 2 articles to write for the school newspaper due tomorrow, and I thought I had most of one done, but really I only have like 2 ok sentences. That article's on sophomore testing, and I have...not a lot of information. And basically no interviews. Oh well.
And one last random fact: I found out in ap stats that I'm class rank 2 right now. and jimmy's rank 4. haha. apparently my gpa is 5.08. Stats class is fun...
